President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will today, March 27, 2020, address the nation on government’s measures put in place on the novel coronavirus outbreak.
Earlier, the Majority Leader in Parliament, Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu told Parliament that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will address the nation today about the coronavirus outbreak while reading a business statement on the floor of the parliament today.
“Because of the rapid unfolding events [about the coronavirus], the President will be addressing the nation today,” the Majority Leader said.
Media reports also suggested that the address will be held at the Parliament house.
However, the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr Eugene Arhin in a Facebook post corrected by saying that the address will be done from the seat of government, Jubilee House.
In the Director of Communications’ post, he said:
This is NOT true. The President will NOT address the nation from Parliament. When he decides to address the nation, just as he has always done, it will be done from Jubilee House, the seat of the nation's Presidency.
