Ghana’s COVID-19 cases rise to 1,279 with 134 recoveries

Ghana’s COVID-19 case count has risen to 1,279 from the initial 1,154 announced last Tuesday, April 20, 2020, representing a 125 new cases confirmed in the country.

According to the latest Ghana Health Service update on Friday, April 24, 2020, Oti and Western North regions have now recorded cases increasing the number of regions affected by COVID-19 to 12 out of 16 regions across the country.

The update also indicates that 14 more people have recovered from the virus, pegging the total number of recovered cases in Ghana at 134.

Reports also show that 10 people have died due to the disease.

A breakdown from the regional level

Records show that Greater Accra still leads with the highest number of positive cases, followed by the Ashanti and Eastern Region.
