Donate Resources to Fight Coronavirus- Labour Relations Expert

Labour Relations Expert, Prince William Ankrah has called on corporate institutions in the country to donate resources to the support government’s fight in containing the pandemic novel virus.

This, he said is needed as the government alone does not have enough resources to fight the virus.

Although the government is in talks with the IMF and the World Bank to provide funds to fight the virus, Mr. William Ankrah believes the move will support the nation’s effort to prevent the spread of the virus.

“Corporations across the country should go to the extent of making sure that they voluntarily donate to the government given the fact that our dear nation actually needs resources. I mean we hear $100 million dollars, given the magnitude and the scale of the problem, is that adequate? I think that it is about time that corporations across the country begin to show concern.”

Earlier today, two new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the country bringing the number to nine confirmed cases in the country.

Government’s Effort to Fight the Virus

Already, as part of the government’s effort to fight the virus, a four-week ban has been placed on public gatherings while the government has also issued a travel ban in the country.

The Economic Management Team has also held a meeting with the finance ministry to assess the fiscal impact of the virus on the economy.

An emergency number has also been set out to the public for calls to be made in any case of suspected infection.
