COVID-19: MTN Provides Free Connectivity to Online Learning Platforms to Aid Home Learning
Telcom giant MTN Ghana has announced a Y’ello care package for customers which will allow them to access a variety of learning channels to support their children’s learning and entertainment.
In a press release, the Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Ghana, Noel Kojo-Garson said the new development is to relieve customers of the financial burden to access online learning platforms.
“Our customers are very important to us and even more so in these difficult times, we must show our customers that we care about their wellbeing. We believe the zero-rating of over 25 educational online sites will be a great relief to our customers and their children and other dependents. MTN will continue to explore other opportunities to make life a whole lot brighter even in these difficult times.”
The company says the new development is to facilitate the distance learning programmes rolled out by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication after the government closed down universities, senior high schools, and basic schools.
What other measures are the Telcom Giant putting in place?
The company has already started providing personal hygiene messages and updates on COVID-19 through SMS and social media platforms.
Additionally, the company has also zero-rated the website of the Ghana Health Service to enable customers to read and access information on COVID-19 for free.
